Sydney Sweeney has been making it abundantly clear that she's single—to the point where she's flashing her ringless finger and singing "Someone Like You" at Karaoke—but apparently she and Jonathan Davino aren't fully over.
The former couple were spotted in Florida together, where Jonathan had a huge smile on his face and Sydney was holding her new puppy. Obviously the pics led to confusion / reconciliation rumors, so...what's going on?
According to an Us Weekly source, Sydney and Jonathan are simply having a hard time cutting ties.
"They had been together for so many years and their lives are very intertwined," the source says. "It’s hard for them to just pull the plug and stop all communication."
That said, this insider confirms that "the wedding is still off" and that Syd and Jonathan are platonic. "Sydney and Jonathan have maintained a good relationship during this time and aren’t back together," they explain, noting that the pair are "figuring things out" and that Sydney "is still maintaining that she is single and very focused on work."
Just FYI, a previous Us Weekly recently said that the exes were having major issues ahead of their breakup, and that “Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars. It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan."
